WanderLust: Milwaukee
For Ethan's Birthday, We Headed Up To Milwaukee, Wisconsin For A Weekend Of Wanderlust. With His Parents Living 30 Minutes Outside Of the city We Were Able To Drop Off The Kiddy And Pup to Explore At Our Leisure.
Milwaukee Is For Lovers!!
For Most People, Milwaukee Would not Be Their First Choice For A Weekend Getaway. But We Discovered How Much Milwaukee Had To Offer And It Was Astonishing. The First Thing We Noticed Was How Clean And Green The City Was. It Is Truly Charming how it was Broken Up Into Different Neighborhoods All Along The Lake And Rivers. It's An Urban City Mixed With A Vast Helping Of Mother Nature.
Our First Stop Right Off The Lakefront Was The Historic 3rd Ward. The Old Warehouse District Of Milwaukee Turned Into A Mecca For Arts, Fashion And Dining. We Stopped For A Bite At Cafe Benelux Which Offers Rooftop Seating. The Casual And Friendly Atmosphere Made Our Encounter Relaxing. The Food Was Divine And Each Dish Had Its Own Special Twist. Their Beer List Was Extensive But Broke Down For Easy Comprehension. A Tried, And True Spot For Any Beer Lover.
3rd Ward
The 3rd Ward doesn't stop there. we headed over to the Milwaukee Public Market and wondered the exquisite display of shops. We Took in the sights of The Riverwalk and enjoyed a sweet treat from Red Elephant Chocolate.
Brady Street
The next day we wondered over to the North end of the city onto Brady Street. We spent the afternoon walking the eclectic neighborhood and discovering gems on every corner. From colorful watering holes, a delicious taco joint on the river, to a neighborhood market serving mouth-watering gelato, Brady Street had something for everyone. We stopped in and enjoyed a pint on the patio at Nomad World Pub. We Took a stroll down a beautiful tree lined street to the river and admired the view from Belair Cantina. We brought home a bottle of wine to remember the trip from Glorioso's Italian Market.
Nature Trails
To cap off the weekend we explored Milwaukee's Nature trails along the river. We never had to leave the city to surround yourself with outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking and even picnicking on the hillside. We end the trip with a magical drive down the beach front.
